VEGAN BAKERY OPENED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Vegan boutique bakery shop Plantiful Kitchen was open in Carlsbad, CA.
The pastry shop is offering gluten-free cheesecakes without sugar, cheesecake pops, treats, doughnuts, and housemade bread, alongside vegan high-quality vegan cheeses, chocolate, nut spreads, coconut jerky, and dessert from other neighborhood organizations.
“I grew up in Germany with an Italian mother and I always loved homemade food. My mom made everything from scratch and feeding us kids healthy nourishing food was very important to her,” Barbara Zeiss, Plantiful Kitchen owner and head chef, told VegNews.

“I guess that made me a health advocate. When I moved to the US in 2016, I felt like there weren’t enough options for plant-based and healthy eaters in San Diego, and especially North County,”

Zeiss plans to expand the bakery’s product offerings, including new gluten-free breads, and rotate products from local small businesses regularly to keep things interesting.
“I thought the community needed a store that had great-tasting and healthy plant-based baked goods and also thoughtful options from other small, SoCal-based vendors I’ve met over the past few years,” Zeiss said.
Plantiful Kitchen will adhere to COVID-19 rules of operation during its delicate opening, permitting a restricted number of guests in the store at once and offering free snacks and vegan beverages if a line creates.
The bakery will offer curbside pickup just as across the nation delivery for specific items.
