SOKITO LAUNCHES VEGAN CERTIFIED FOOTBALL BOOT
Eco-friendly and vegan football boot made with recycled and sustainably sourced materials has been introduced by Sokito, a sportswear brand.
The Devista Vegan boot has uppers made of a substitute for leather that contains 45% recycled nylon.
The foam insole contains 20% recycled rubber, while the vegan suede lining is made from 85% plastic bottles. Castor beans, which are produced using 87% renewable carbon, are used to make the soleplate. The heel counter, thread, and laces are just a few additional shoe parts that are made entirely or mostly of recycled materials.

The Devista Vegan is only the second football boot in the world to have received vegan certification from any organization, and it is the first to receive it from the Vegan Society. It is ethically made in Europe and designed in the UK.
The boot, according to Sokito, has features that are intended to improve player performance, like a locked-in tongue system to expand the strike zone and increase control.
The shoe conforms to the area around the player’s toes to provide protection, while the vegan suede lining provides comfort and a non-slip grip.

Vegan-friendly sport
More businesses have recently focused on the expanding market for vegan sports equipment.
Adidas unveiled its first-ever vegan football boot just over a year ago, created in collaboration with Paul Pogba of Manchester United. It uses materials that have been partially recycled, just like the Devista Vegan.
Former professional footballer Michael Doughty co-founded the UK-based Hylo company, which raised £2.5 million in October for its low-carbon vegan sports shoes.
The first vegan mountain biking shoe was reportedly introduced in 2022 by the German company Doghammer. Natural canvas, cork, and vegan leather are among the materials used to make the shoes.
