PLANET BETHESDA FESTIVAL RETURNING TO CELEBRATE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Planet Bethesda returns to Elm Street Park on June 4, 2023, following the success of the initial event in 2022. The food and music festival will showcase a range of exhibitors and local restaurants providing cutting-edge and unique plant-based cuisine, as well as promote and raise awareness of the advantages of a plant-based diet.
The 2nd Annual Planet Bethesda event, held in conjunction with National Alternative Dairy Month, will feature a plant-based pie eating contest, Bier Garten, Canine Courtyard, live entertainment, and free children’s activities.

The event is co-hosted by the FARM Animal Rights Movement, Sustainable Earth Eating (SEE), and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).
“We were thrilled with the turnout for last year’s festival and how the community embraced the event,” said Eric C. Lindstrom, Executive Director of FARM. “Montgomery County is home to so many great plant-based food options and businesses.”
Planet Bethesda will also feature DJ Soul’s music, an interactive Kid’s Korner with free activities, a Canine Courtyard, a Bier Garten, Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary Animal Ambassadors, presentations, giveaways, and much more.
The event will take place on June 4, 2023, from 12:00 to 6:00 PM, and it is open to the public.

There are food and beverages for sale. The Bethesda Metro Station is a two-minute walk from Elm Street Park. Attendance by dogs is welcomed.
Red Bandana Bakery, Real Foods Kitchen, Dog Haus, Bethesda Curry House, Zoe’s Vegan Delights, In The Raw with Soul, Zao Ramen Stamina, Clayboys, Jarabes, Clean Source Energy, Green Earth Travel, Guardado’s, Zoe’s Delights, Berries & Bowls, and many more are among the vendors.
“I was inspired by the response to the first Planet Bethesda festival. It’s encouraging to see the strong support for veganism and sustainability in our community. We are looking forward to expanding the event in 2023” said Lisa DeCrescente, Special Events & Projects Director for FARM.
