Actress and vegan activist Pamela Anderson debuts a vegan leather accessories collection. She has teamed up with vegan brand Ashoka Paris to release a line of designer bags made using apple skins sourced from Italy.
Fashion designer David Mateo worked with Ms Anderson for almost 16 months to design the collection premiering in red, terracotta, black and nude. The collection is made totally from Apple Skin made in Italy from apple strips.
Each sack is embossed with a message that reads, “Resiste! (Resist). Inside every beautiful person is an activist wanting to defend the planet.” The handbags are available in “box” (€270) and “pouch” (€230) styles
“Changing mentalities, defending victims, delivering justice, challenging politics … for 25 years, Pamela Anderson has been supporting those who are on the front line to protect humans, animals, and environmental rights,” Ashoka Paris wrote in a statement.
“Working on this vegan bag project with Pamela, a global celebrity and committed activist, is an honor and a fabulous experience. Behind the star we discovered an intelligent, approachable, sincere, and creative woman who is brimming with ideas and energy. It is this singularity that we have managed to express through this Pamela Anderson x Ashoka Paris collection.”
A bit of profits from the sale of each bag will be given to the Pamela Anderson Foundation, which underpins associations and people that remain on the front lines in the protection of human and animal rights.
