HILTON HOTEL CREATES VEGAN GUEST ROOM WITH SOY-SILK CURTAINS AND PINEAPPLE LEATHER
Livekindly reports that Hilton Hotels & Resorts is dipping its toes into the fast-growing vegan movement. The international chain created a vegan hotel suite at its Bankside location in Southwark, London.
The idea is the first of its kind in London, and possibly the world.
Designed alongside London studio Bompas & Parr and The Vegan Society, the hotel room draws inspiration from pineapples, which are heavily featured in the suite.

Armchairs, cushions, pouffes, headboards, and even keycards are made with Piñatex, a natural leather derived from the cellulose fibers of pineapple leaves. The swap is a defiant move away from animal-derived leather, known for its unethical practices and harsh environmental impact.
The room features sustainable bamboo flooring. Instead of curtains made from silk, a material produced by boiling silkworms in their cocoons, Hilton used soybeans to make the soft, fluttery fabric.
