The desire for vegan meals is not simply restricted to eating. Consumers are becoming more and more interested in apparel that is free from cruelty. More than 70% of Americans, according to the Fur Free Alliance, oppose fur farming, and this viewpoint is shared by much of Canada and Europe.

As a result, numerous companies have eliminated fur from their product lines, including Dolce & Gabbana, Coach, and Valentino. Others have abandoned their leather.

Danish clothing company Ganni promised to switch to plant-based leather in 2021, abandoning new leather from cows.

The market for vegan women’s clothing reached more than $396 billion in 2019. Grandview Research, a market research firm, claims that celebrities have significantly increased demand for cruelty-free clothing. According to Grandview Research, “many well-known celebrities are adopting vegan stylish attire, which is inspiring consumers to deliberately choose cruelty-free gear.”

These individuals include Pamela Anderson, Joaquin Phoenix, Christy Turlington, Alicia Silverstone, and pop artist Pink. The higher social acceptance of these items has fueled consumer demand because of the growing belief among consumers that animals are sentient beings with feelings akin to those of humans.

While many celebrities may use vegan clothing, the A-list appears to prefer the beauty and personal care sectors for their own brands. Additionally, it makes sound business sense.

Consumer demand for animal-free cosmetics is rising, much like it is for clothing.

The vegan cosmetics business was worth more than $12 billion in 2020. Experts estimate that it may reach approximately $25 billion by 2028. 97 percent of Brits wanted more vegan-certified cosmetics in 2021, according to a report by the Vegan Society.

These celebrities have started their own vegan companies. The majority work in the beauty industry, although several have also dabbled in sunscreen, vitamins, and the fashion industry.
